xena_studio Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Hi As you can see in the video I uploaded in Affinity Photo I can't add hex code to pixel layers but it has no problem with image layers what's the solution? Affinity.m4v Quote

Pšenda Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 (edited) An image layer is a single object / container for an entire image. The color setting changes the color of the entire object - both the cherries and their stem (is that really the intention?). The Pixel layer is an individual pixels, that is manipulated individually - whether with a Brush, Flood Fill, Adjustments, etc ... So you have to write what color "manipulation" you want to do with these individual pixels. But do you really want to change everything ?, including green stems and leaves !!! No , I have a color pallete with 4 colors in it, I want to recolor every pixel/image layer to those 4 different colors. like cherries to red and grapes to purple etc, I can't use recolor because I have to use specific hex codes. When you select an Image layer and try to adjust its color, you are adjusting its Fill. Image layers (and vector layers) have a Fill that is accessible that way. Pixel layers do not. 20 minutes ago, xena_studio said: What is the solution ? can I convert pixel to image? Yes, but only in Publisher. Or you could export your pixel layer as a JPG, TIFF, or PNG file, and Place that file in your Photo document. You might also try adding a Fill Layer above your pixel layer, setting it to the color you want, and then adjusting its Blend Mode (in the Layers panel) to get the effect you want. JimmyJack Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Hi @xena_studio. Is assigning the Hex value to the image layer giving you the best color result? Take a look at the comparison I threw together. The image layer looks over saturated to me. The color blend looks "truer". And, if that's the case, the colorization process becomes easy.... use your hex colors with any type of masking you want: stem, fruit etc. xena_studio and Alfred 1 1 Quote
JimmyJack Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Here's another one. Your image and hex value. The difference is much less here. There's a bit more saturation on the image layer, but it's pretty much a push. Might as well go with the blend mode for the hex flexibility on pixel layers (imho). Alfred and xena_studio 1 1 Quote
