rhecht95 Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Hi all, I did some searching for this topic in the forums and could not find anything that matched this issue. However, if perhaps I was not using the right keywords, I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction... I have an image that I have rasterized and removed pixels from using the freehand selection tool (encircling and then using delete key). When I export the file to PDF, the selection tool lines are invisible when viewing on Mac preview or Firefox PDF viewer, but they are still visible when using Adobe Acrobat and when I try to print the file. I am not sure what is causing this issue or how to get rid of the lines. I have tried inserting another vector layer with white fill behind the image to block them, and I have played with the "anti-aliasing" toggle in the marquee selection tool, but neither of these worked. I have also tried exporting as flat PDF... also did not work. I have attached the original file as well as some scree-shots of the issue region as viewed on Mac preview and Adobe Acrobat. Any suggestions and advice are greatly appreciated. Thanks! poster_chemical-biology-physiology-conference_2022_vportrait-3.afdesign Quote
firstdefence Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 To see the deleted areas go to File > Document Setup: Colour Tab and check the option for transparency. Now you can see the deleted area's. Make sure you have the image pixel layer selected and change to Pixel Persona (The middle icon) I've turned off the text layers within the group to make it easier to see. You can work with the brush tool or use selections and the fill tool Select the brush tool and set the colour to white, you can then paint the areas with white and the transparency will disappear and the line will not show. Or you can make rectangular selections (Keyboardstroke M); note the Keyboardstroke M is a cycle key and will cycle through the various selection modes, and fill the selections with the Fill Tool (Keyboardstroke G) Quote iMac 27" 2019 Sequoia 15.0 (24A335), iMac 27" Affinity Designer, Photo & Publisher V1 & V2, Adobe, Inkscape, Vectorstyler, Blender, C4D, Sketchup + more... rhecht95 Posted April 27, 2022 Author Posted April 27, 2022 (edited) @firstdefence this seems to have solved my issue, thank you so much for your help! Could you help me understand the blank rectangle child layers that appear after rasterizing an image and creating a pixel layer (at the bottom of your layers panel)? Is this the layer, rather than the pixel layer itself, that I should be painting and editing? Or is it one and the same as the pixel layer? Thanks, -Ryan Edited April 27, 2022 by rhecht95 add more information Quote
firstdefence Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 The rectangles appear to be clipping masks and to be honest they can be deleted, they don't seem to serve any purpose. rhecht95 Posted April 28, 2022 Author Posted April 28, 2022 That's good to know. Thanks so much for the video, it was very helpful! I successfully printed the document without any of the selection tool lines. Quote
