Hello! I did search for similar threads, but I couldn't find anything. I'm sorry if an answer is posted elsewhere!

I have, as noted in the title, Designer, Photo, and Publisher. I initially had no issues opening the programs, but now they all just say "not responding," and they never respond. I have restarted the computer and uninstalled and reinstalled at least one of the programs. This was a few weeks ago, and I can't remember if I only tried with Photo or if I uninstalled/reinstalled another one as well. This happens whether I open the program itself or right click on a document and choose "open in."

I don't know what other information will help, but I have Windows 10, 11th generation i7 processor, and 11.8 GB usable RAM. In task manager, it fluctuated between 1 and 7% CPU and 72-74% memory (I really don't know what that means, but I figured it could be useful!).

Thank you for any help!

Hi @feather78

Welcome to the Forum.

Could you try going through the below steps to revert the application to it's default settings which may resolve your issue:

1. Press Win + R and enter %APPDATA% and navigate to the 'Affinity' Folder.

2. Right click the Designer/Photo/Publisher folder and compress the folder to ZIP to create a backup.

3. On the application shortcut, click once onto the shortcut, hold down control and right click > open the application whilst still holding down control.

4. This will prompt a new menu 'Clear User Data' with three boxes ticked, press the 'Clear' at the bottom right hand corner.

5. Load the application back up to confirm if this has resolved the issue.

The link below will advise you what is cleared and where assets are stored so they can be backed up.

Hi! Thank you for your response. I tried what you wrote, and Photo still wouldn't open. Next, I uninstalled all three apps again and reinstalled Photo. It still wouldn't open, so I tried the steps above again, and it's still not working. Any more suggestions? Thank you!!

ETA: I also just tried not creating a backup and clicking "select all" to clear everything. Still nothing, unfortunately!

Please could you ensure you have the latest drivers installed for your Graphics Card.

If they are fully up to date and the issue persist, please could you follow the link below and see our list of issues caused by Third Party apps

I decided to restart the computer to see if that would help, and it did! Photo is now opening. I'm going to reinstall the other two apps, which will hopefully work now as well. Thank you for your assistance!
