LawGuy Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 (edited) So I just download the trial version of Affinity Designer and cannot find PANTONE+ Soild Coated and PANTONE+ Soild Uncoated in the swatches tab. I'm just wondering what the cause may be? I need those specific swatches for printing purposes. Also I'm pretty sure that it's not the same as PANTONE Formula Guide. But if it is, I'd like to know. Staff EmT Posted April 27, 2022 Staff Posted April 27, 2022 Hi @LawGuy Welcome to the Forum. The Pantone Plus Series does includes Pantone Formula Guide (Solid Coated and Uncoated). So it does sound like that may be what you are looking for. Is there a specific Pantone colour you need? The links below may help provide some more detail on the different colour guides. https://www.designface.co.uk/pantone-plus-series/ https://www.lifewire.com/before-you-buy-pantone-color-guides-1073948 https://www.pantone.com/uk/en/colour-systems/for-graphic-design https://www.verivide.com/which-pantone-book-is-the-right-one-for-you/ Quote Contact Support | List of V2 FAQ's | Affinity Online Help | Affinity Video Tutorials | Beta Software Forums | Bug Reporting Guidance
LawGuy Posted April 27, 2022 Author Posted April 27, 2022 So, the Specific Pantone swatch i’m looking for is 'PANTONE+ Solid Coated' and 'Pantone+ Solid Uncoated' which is in the 'Pantone Solid Chips' palette. Does Affinity Designer (and all other Affinity products) still offer those specific swatches? I don’t have see it whenever I open up Affinity. Quote
Staff EmT Posted April 27, 2022 Staff Posted April 27, 2022 If you can create or find that palette as an adobe swatch exchange file then you would be able to import it into Affinity, it would however be identified as colour values not Pantone values. LawGuy Posted April 27, 2022 Author Posted April 27, 2022 So would that Adobe swatch exchange file be something similar to the other swatch excel files found in Affinity? Quote
Staff EmT Posted April 28, 2022 Staff Posted April 28, 2022 The Pantone collections within the app are the ones that are supplied to us by Pantone. The Adobe swatch exchange would be a method of allowing the import a third party palette into our apps. The names of the colours would depend on how the palette was designed, its not something we have control over.
