I have chosen danish as spelling language. I does not show up as hyphenation language. Auto does not give any hyphenation. "Help" says:

"Hyphenation dictionaries are included for most languages supported by Affinity apps, except for Chinese, Japanese and Russian."

So danish should be included.

Ove Steen - totally new Affinity-user after 30 years with PageMaker and InDesign - please let me believe I made the right choice.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, Ove.

What OS are you using, and which Affinity application?

Monterey 12.3.1

On Mac, the Affinity applications use system functions for some spelling functions and dictionaries. I'm not sure to what extent that applies to hyphenation.

Danish of course is available within MacOS and has been activated. Therefor it should not be neccessary to be installed from Hunspell. Can you confirm that with regard to the Help text?

In MS Word all languages are included in advance with hyphenation and it works automatically on my Mac. What is it with Affinity, that it will only show German, English, Spanish French, Italian, Latin and Portuguese in the hyphenation menu? And I can not ask it to hyphenate in Danish. Why? And what must I do? I am really surprised.

Are you able to select Danish as the Spelling option within Publisher? (not the Hyphenation dictionary, simply the regular one)
