Affinity Designer SVG for Web

I'm not sure if I'm exporting incorrectly or something - I created an SVG that I intend to use on the web as a logo.  It's a basic black fill with no stroke.

Is there a way to have the fill, on export be "currentcolor" so that I can easily change the css fill and stroke without using !important?

Otherwise no matter what I try to set the fill to it stays black.

Upon further inspection I've resolved it - it's not you, it's me.  I was trying to import via <img src=""> which doesn't allow for style change so I have to load it inline
