Expand Stroke Not Working!

Getting a good work flow going today - until Expand Stroke refused to work for some reason..

A common problem I think?

Here's an example file with a curve I copied from the offending file(s). I've tried in both iPad and Windows versions. Also tried the same method in a new file and it works there, yet for some reason in the files I'm currently working on it's suddenly started not working?

Appears to be related to the setting 'brush texture line' style. Change this back to 'solid line' style and it works.

Right aye that works. Some setting I accidentally knocked maybe? 

Was trying to wrap up last night and this happened - busy stressing over a new digital painting. Can be a bit stressy towards the end - only 6 months creating this one this time (as opposed to a year last time)
