affinity photo only showing text type files in folders instad of All Documents

hello guys i have problem that wasn't there in the privies versions of affinity but lately about one year ago it start to happen

so when i try to place a picture it suppose to let me choose any kind of supported type of files, but sometimes it just show me text files only.

  and i had to change it manually to All Documents, and when it happen while it's on text layer the program doesn't allow me to change it from text Files to All Documents.

It think it does that intentionally  whenyou have a text object selected, because the only thing you can Place into a text object is a text file. On Windows you can still override it by typing a search string in the filename box, e.g., abc* or *.jpg, etc. or by using the Search box on the upper right.

thanks for responding mr. walt, and you're right it could be intentionally when i'm trying to place something while selecting a text layer

but sometimes and randomly it happen, even if i'm on normal layer such as images or filters, and then i had to change it manually to "All Documents"

i don't know if it can be fixed by doing something in the preference settings or is it need a update that fix it.

 

Note: I got Affinity Photo through the Microsoft Store, not through affinity site.

There is no preference setting for it and it's really annoying at times.

You just have to live with it until someone fixes it
