EndleB Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 Hello We are trying to re-deploy the older Serif 6 suite. To save time we are using PDQ dep[loy. Just using the /q parameter errors with an Unknown Error 1603. Going through the output log, the only error I can find is : MSI (s) (D0:30) [11:06:45:741]: Product: Serif DrawPlus X6 (32-bit) -- Error 1309. Error reading from file: C:\windows\AdminArsenal\PDQDeployRunner\service-1\exec\Fonts\abil.ttf. System error 3. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it. Error 1309. Error reading from file: C:\windows\AdminArsenal\PDQDeployRunner\service-1\exec\Fonts\abil.ttf. System error 3. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it. And ,yes, those fiels do not exist. Did I install incorrectly? Am I using the wrong silent install parameters? If I install the .MSI by hand it installs correctly. Can anyone help? Quote
Staff DWright Posted April 25, 2022 Staff Posted April 25, 2022 The main causes of the 1609 error are the following, also with the silent deploy I would use the /qn parameter on the command line Windows Installer is attempting to install an app that is already installed on your PC. The folder that you are trying to install the Windows Installer package to is encrypted. The drive that contains the folder that you are trying to install the Windows Installer package to is accessed as a substitute drive. The SYSTEM account does not have Full Control permissions on the folder that you are trying to install the Windows Installer package to. You notice the error message because the Windows Installer service uses the SYSTEM account to install software. Quote
Alfred Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @EndleB. These forums are exclusively for issues relating to the apps in Serif’s Affinity range. For legacy applications such as DrawPlus X6 (not to be confused with the ancient DrawPlus 6 without the ‘X’!) you should generally post to the CommunityPlus Forum, although CommunityPlus is due to disappear in a couple of months, but in this particular case you may find some useful information on the following page: https://help.pdq.com/hc/en-us/articles/220531027-MSI-Fatal-Error-Error-1603 Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.5.1 (iPad 7th gen)
