Buzzard Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 (edited) I want to blend three photos. They are exact copies of the same photo but the color has been modified in each. If thinking in terms of film color, they would resemble Fuji Velvia 50, Fuji Provia 100, and Fuji Color C200. In terms of blending, I want the C200 to cover 25% of the shadows. I want the Provia 100 to cover 50% of the midtones. I want the Velvia 50 to cover 25% of the highlights. I do want to use exact percentages. Simple clicks to see what I end up with. The photos have been edited already. I only want to blend them. This is a test for me. I understand I could end up with a ugly picture; but I do want to try this. I have looked at some videos and articles on blend ranges. They are convoluted with multiple layers, multiple editing actions, and pointers. This blend of three photos is all I want help with. I can't for the life of me figure out how to do this and finish with saving the photo as a tiff. In other words from start with bringing the pictures in to finish ( saving ). Thanks in advance! v_kyr Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 Hello and welcome! There are several possible ways to load in/include images in APh. - But you may want to go this route here then ... External file linking and Resource Manager (Affinity Photo video tut) For blend modes see this tutorial video ... Blend modes Also do a Forum or Google search about the term "blend modes", you will find a bunch of threads, tutorials & and also written down PDF articles about those! I like the resource manager. That is what I am going to try to start. I have owned Affinity since Version 1, December 2016. This is the first time I have ever seen mention of a resource manager that has the ability to blend. It looks very cool and brain dead simple. The one thing missing is saving the "linked" document as a tiff or high quality jpeg for output such as printing. I am sure its in the Affinity menu but that is a issue I have with tutorials. They almost never finish with the save. To quote the movie margin call, " Talk to me like you are talking to a child ". With all this being said, I have looked long and hard at many videos and articles on blending. I have looked at the one you cited before. Its use of many different blend modes and edits is what I don't want to see. I just want the easiest way to hit the shadows, mids, and highlights with three marginally different color schemes of the same photo; that have already been edited to taste. Thanks again! RichardMH Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 A bit confused about your percentages. If 25% of the shadows is C200, what is the other 75%? To save as a tiff, I use File->Export and its one of the export options. Buzzard 1 Quote

To save as a tiff, I use File->Export and its one of the export options. I am thinking in terms of shadows taking up 25% of the photo. That portion will be 100% C200. I was positive export was the way. Its a pet peeve of mine that a lot of instructors skip saving so the final photo can be printed ( shared ). At the end of the day, that is the most important piece of the puzzle. Edited April 22, 2022 by Buzzard Quote
RichardMH Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 That makes sense. I think you'll need blend ranges or luminosity masks but come back here if you get stuck. Buzzard 1 Quote
