I'm noticing that my paint brush still retains some amount of transparency even when all opacity settings are set to 100%. I've made sure to set the brush settings, the layer settings, and the color settings. I'm unsure what other setting could be contributing to the issue. Here is an example of what I'm seeing.

Wet edges are set, far right of the Context toolbar.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

What Brush are you using? Can you give us a screenshot of the complete application window?

Well, son of a gun.  This solved it.  I've got original Affinity and Affinity 2, and both were having issues after I don't know what happened, and couldn't figure out how or why.  Now, what's tricky is that in mine there is no visible "wet" edges option as shown above - it doesn't show up on my toolbars.  I searched all over the toolbar looking for it, and for the protect alpha option and finally found it at the far end of the toolbar after clicking the double arrows.  It was there, it was checked, and I unchecked it and voila, it was fixed.
