Text and Alignment bugs

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Affinity 1.10.5

MacOS 12.3.1

There is a bug with text in Affinity designer. I tried new isolated files and it is reproducible. Not sure if it has already been reported. It happens with both artistic text and  frame text tool.

Issue:

The issue is when the text is typed in and we click on alignment to align the text, the text OR part of the text disappears, in the examples below the whole text disappears however in my other files just the first half of the text disappears

To reproduce:

  1. Open a blank document/artboard.
  2. Add a text from text tools
  3. click on alignment on the toolbar and choose any you like
  4. the text disappears and never come back, however still in the layers panel...

Welcome to the forums @The3Emran,

I believe this is just a redraw issue, if you zoom out and in the text will be shown.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Ah perfect, I just gave it a shot and it is working now, that will keep me going for time being! 🙏

However does this not classify as a bug? quite weird zooming in & out every time we align 😄

Yes it is a bug. I should have said so.
