Bug command “change document size” used in a macro

Recommended Posts

If the command "Change document size" is recorded in a macro and the lock for keep aspect ratio is activated and
only one value is entered for one side, the following error occurs after the macro has been executed.
The aspect ratio of the document is not preserved, the document is distorted.

The error is that the dimensions of both sides are recorded and when applying the Macro only the two dimensions are used and "Maintain side ratio" is ignored. When recording the macros, only the user inputs may be saved and no calculated values. The calculation of the second Side length must be done when applying the Marco.

This is another example where an operation recorded in a macro remembers/records the result.

You can use Filters > Distort > Equations in a macro to perform resizing, instead. There are examples of that in the forums; search for macro resize in the Resources forum and you'll find some, for example:

The filter Filters > Distort > Equations is much more complicated, than Change document size". I want to add an watermark , flatten the document and change it to fixed pixel length. The comand ist available in a macro, and it works not as the user aspected. If affinty want not fix the problem to use commands in a macro thy have to make the comand not available in a macro with a popup when the user try to use it. To recoment a workaround is nice, but dosend solve the general problem. The target must be to make Affinity better.

Yes, we (and Serif) want to make it better.

But this is an improvement that has been requested before.
