erdi12
Applying the filter to a layer with areas of full transparency (alpha=100%) fills the entire layer. Expected behavior would be to fill only the opaque areas and taken into account the alpha cannel. The "Preserve Alpha" option would also make sense in the filter. Staff stokerg Posted April 21, 2022 Staff Share Posted April 21, 2022 Hi @erdi12, I must be missing something, as i've not been able to replicate this on Windows. Could you attach a sample .afphoto file that shows the issue?
NotMyFault
Same on iPad. Its about the destructive filter (there is a non-destructive version in procedural texture presets). I personally would not rate this as bug. The filter creates its own alpha, and replaces the layer below completely. If you want preserve alpha, you can simply use the channels panel and uncheck “edit alpha”. erdi12
I add an example file. The botton layer ist the basis ist it was duplicated 3 times. Midle layer shows teh sesult with the Filter Perlin Noise. the complete layer ist filled. The top Layer shows a workaround. Before adjust the filter a adition mask is added. It shows asl result the aspected behaviour of the filter in the middle layer. If you use filter add-Noise the behaviour is as espectected. To be honest, I'm not sure that that is what I would expect! 😉 I don't see it as a bug, just the way this filter works.
