Jonseph Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Export and Save As.. have stopped working. The usual first dialogue box appears fine, but when Export is selected the dialogue disappears and nothing is saved. Previously the save location dialogue appeared but now nothing. The same error occurs on all files and for all file types. Save still works, so files can be saved, but only as .afphoto types. As I have several jobs requiring export this is causing huge problems - can't even send files to clients for approval! I have tried re-installing Photo (v1.10.5), but the error persists. Staff DWright Posted April 20, 2022 Staff Posted April 20, 2022 Hi @Jonseph, Welcome to the forum Is it possible for you to send me a copy of this image file using the Dropbox below so that I can test this onmy Mac https://www.dropbox.com/request/sP3JLaX6C9d7h44x4aAT Quote
Jonseph Posted April 21, 2022 Author Posted April 21, 2022 Hi - a couple of files sent, although it fails to export any file of any size so the actual file is immaterial. Is it possible to downgrade to an earlier version of Photo for a few days as it always worked previously and things are getting a bit desperate now? Quote
GarryP Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Can you still use the application after you press the Export button or does it stop working? I only ask as the application may be waiting for some user action in a dialog which is ‘off-screen’ – can happen if you have more than one screen but only have one currently in use. Quote
Jonseph Posted April 21, 2022 Author Posted April 21, 2022 Hi Garry. The app continues to work fine after. The dialogue closes and it continues as normal. Same happens with single screen as dual screens. Quote
Jonseph Posted April 21, 2022 Author Posted April 21, 2022 Just in case it's relevant, Export still works fine in Publisher and Designer. Quote

Ah, oh well, shame that wasn’t a ‘quick fix’. (It’s something which pops up every now and again so I thought I’d mention it.) I’ll let DWright (and others) continue the thread as I'm not a Mac user. PaulEC Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Until this is solved, could you open the file in one of the other apps ("edit in") and export from there? PaulEC Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Obviously not a permanent solution, but at least you can keep your clients happy for now! 👍 Quote Acer XC-895 : Core i5-10400 Hexa-core 2.90 GHz : 32GB RAM : Intel UHD Graphics 630 – Windows 11 Home - Affinity Publisher, Photo & Designer, v2 (As I am a Windows user, any answers/comments I contribute may not apply to Mac or iPad.)
Jonseph Posted April 24, 2022 Author Posted April 24, 2022 Actually worse than I thought as new files that weren't .afphoto to start with won't save at all! By that I mean if I open a .jpg for instance and alter it, then try to save, it won't save as any file type. Quote
Jonseph Posted May 5, 2022 Author Posted May 5, 2022 Temporary fix to the problem: Using Time Machine (on Mac) I re-installed the previous version of Photo and now Export and Save work fine again. Quote
