Hi martygervz,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

Yes, you can also open JPG's (or any other regular image file type) and edit them.

The RAW format just gives you more flexibility since you can alter certain image parameters before processing/converting them to a regular image.

How do you convert a saved picture from Affinity to jpeg? My mac photo app does not recognize .afphoto I initially uploaded the jpeg photo onto Affinity but after editing, it doesn't allow me to save it as jpeg... Confused on why?

Use the export feature in the file pull down menu. You will see a box show up with all the available formats to export to. JPEG is one of them.
