Tar
Hi all, I can't think of anything I did to make this line appear on my image. I've tried switching all the layers off and on to see if it was on one of them, but no joy in removing it so far. At first I thought I might have something highlighted - like a rectangle layer - but that's not the case. Thanks for any ideas.
NotMyFault
Hi, this line is probably a ruler. You can manage them with the view menu (show rulers, or the managers to delete them). Another option is that you activated snapping, and „show snapping candidates“. https://affinity.help/photo/English.lproj/pages/DesignAids/guides.html https://affinity.help/photo/English.lproj/pages/DesignAids/snapping.html Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | Windows 10 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps. G13RL
HI @Tar, This looks like a guide that you may have placed previously. You can either hide it: "View", uncheck "Show Guides", or remove it: "View", "Guides Manager". EDIT: I had not read the answer of @NotMyFault, my answer is double, sorry! Tar
Many thanks for the quick response. Looks like I've pulled a ruler guide down without realising. Ah well, I've learned something new. RichardMH

If you look at Help topics about Text Styles, for example, I have found some spots that talk of Styles, where they really mean Text Styles. There's a general inconsistency that can cause confusion. Of course, with Guides we get that inconsistency between the Help and the menus, too, since the menus refer to Guides and to Column Guides, but not to Ruler Guides. In addition to consistency (which should be a matter of course), Help would also benefit from greater clarity and comprehensiveness, as it is a basic source of information about Affinity applications and its features for many users. Although there are a lot of videos, for non-English speaking users are difficult, and written tutorials is scarce.
