Hi - this is odd.  We did these menus back in August, 2021, using Designer 1.10.1.1142.  Today we needed to open them again, now using 1.10.5.1342.  You can see the differences in the attached screengrabs.  The one on the left is the earlier version, and the one on the right is what we saw today.  There are 8 of these, and all of them are displaying these inconsistencies.  Alignments have changed, positions and sizes of text boxes as well.

We have not touched these files since, so we are baffled as to what has happened.  Any ideas please?

Thanks.

Julian.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

A few potential causes:

  1. The fonts are perhaps different now than when you created the files, especially if you're using a different computer than the original one, or the OS or fonts have been updated since then.
  2. Some bug in Affinity 1.10.1 has been fixed.
  3. A new bug has been created.

Thanks!

It's the same computer and Windows 10, albeit with several updates inbetween.

I went through the forum earlier to see if anyone had posted something similar, but I cannot find anything.  The fonts are the same.  We have an identical computer, but with the older version of Designer, which opened the same file fine, just this afternoon.

I tended to think bug, but with no sign of reports I am not so sure.

There have been various old bugs which, when fixed, have changed layout. Any diagnosis will probably require having the actual file and access to both releases of Designer.

Can you please reopen the Dropbox link?  Apologies for delay, but I was unexpectedly taken into hospital.  I would still like to resolve this problem.  Thanks.

Hi - thanks very much.  I have uploaded the original file to DropBox, which is from 9th June last year.  Details as mentioned above.

Hi @JBT27

I haven't opened this file on 1.10.1 yet however I found that as soon as I installed the 'Roboto' font the text frames correctly re-aligned itself in line with your original image again. Perhaps removing/re-installing this font may help?
