Until a vector pattern function comes along, I have adopted this method to create high res raster patterns. I don't think you can see the differences in raster and vector unless you zoom in really close, but who's gonna do that to your artwork. Anyway, my video shows a simple pattern. Enjoy!

Yes, it's working now, but the quality is low, so it's very difficult to see your settings (what you are typing in the boxes).

 

However the method is great. :)

What exactly did you do when you repeated the stars (on the edge)? I saw you "were in the edit menu", but not what you did.

There I just copy-pasted the star then with one right arrow key press the star moved over to the other side. In the beginning I set a nudge to be the same size as the doc to allow this to be precise placement of the stars on the edges.

The vector pattern function of which app? Affinity has none.

Hi, it's the gradient tool in both Affinity Designer and Photo. Fill>Bitmap. It's not vector pattern though.
