patrick_h_lauke Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 When one layer is selected, and you shift+click, it normally selects all layers between the originally selected one and the Shift+Clicked one. However, if part of that selection includes a layer group with a mask, and that group is expanded/open, the selection in the end includes *all* underlying layers (not just the ones in the range between the original selection and shift+clicked one) Quote

patrick_h_lauke Posted April 9, 2022 Author Posted April 9, 2022 the same issue happens in Affinity Designer, and presumably (though I can't verify as I don't own it) Affinity Publisher affinity-designer-layer-selection.mp4 Quote
Ron P. Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 I can confirm that. Shouldn't be skipping layers between. patrick_h_lauke Posted April 10, 2022 Author Posted April 10, 2022 i don't think it's skipping any layers (as the open group itself is selected), but the fact that (in my videos above) the bottom two layers also get selected, even though they were not in range of the originally selected and the shift+clicked layer Quote
patrick_h_lauke Posted April 10, 2022 Author Posted April 10, 2022 Hens yes, as per my bug description " if part of that selection includes a layer group with a mask, and that group is expanded/open" Quote
Dan C Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 Hi @patrick_h_lauke, Thanks for your report! I can confirm I'm able to replicate this issue here, so I'm getting it logged with our developers now. Interestingly I've discovered in my testing that the number of layers incorrectly selected below the first click of your selection actually depends on how many Pixel layers you have in the group layer. For example, if you have 1 pixel layer in the group, only 1 additional layer is selected - if you have 3 pixel layers in the group, then 3 additional layers are selected 'under' the selection you try to make. I hope this helps Quote
