This is a known issue afd-5473 already logged (probably for Mac and iPad, but affecting all OS).

Mac mini M1 A2348 | Windows 10 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080

LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5

iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589

Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps.

My posts focus on technical aspects and leave out most of social grease like „maybe“, „in my opinion“, „I might be wrong“ etc. just add copy/paste all these softeners from this signature to make reading more comfortable for you. Otherwise I’m a fine person which respects you and everyone and wants to be respected.

Hi @vidu3k333,

Thanks for your report - as NotMyFault mentions, this issue is already logged with our developers, so I'll be sure to update the report with them now.

In the meantime, moving the Pixel layer from the 'Layer' container should stop this from happening, then you can return the pixel layer to this location once you've finished editing.

I hope this helps!

Hello, has this bug been resolved?

I'm seeing this exact same behaviour when using a pixel layer within a layer within an artboard on Affinity Designer 2.5.7 on Windows 11.

To summarise what I've tested
- Pixel layer within layer - usually works but had to restart affinity once
- Pixel layer within layer within layer - works
- Pixel layer within artboard - works
- Pixel layer within layer within artboard - never works, have to force render by zooming / mouseover

Thanks!

Welcome to the Affinity forums, @ethanc. No, it hasn't been fixed yet. You'll need to use the workaround mentioned above. When it is fixed, this topic (and any others tagged with bug tag AF-489 (which Dan added above) will get a post from the Affinity Info Bot providing details of the fix.
