Lyndhurst Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 Hi, I have created two issues of a new magazine for my hobby. The file size from the 1st issue to the 2nd has jumped quite a lot. I think the problem is due to importing images from the 'stock' panel (pixabay etc). Should I first resize the image before importing it into the magazine? My pages are A4, 300 dpi and exported as a pdf. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Quote

Yes. if you use stock images exceeding the required resolution you could save storage by resizing them before import. It is always a challenge to balance ease of use versus size limitations. If your document stays below ~ 1 GB total size you don’t need to care. Above it is wise to spend some time to optimize for storage size to avoid trouble. The actual limit may depend on your PC sizing. Lyndhurst Posted April 8, 2022 Author Posted April 8, 2022 Thanks, first edition was 15 MB for 48pages, second issue was 21 MB for 40 pages. Can you advise the image size for a full A4 page, eg. would that be say 1000 x 1000 @ 300 dpi? I think the stock images were over 3000 x similar each, putting them into a smaller image holder probably needs them resizing. Quote
