Arne Skinlo Posted April 7, 2022 Posted April 7, 2022 Now I am about to export my first book in AP to Blurb for printing. Blurb has an upload for PDF files, but this is a bit more complicated than I had expected. I cannot find any tutorials that cover this in detail. Could someone tell me about a description or tutorial that covers this step by step? Blurb has an app for InDesign users, is there something similar for AP? Quote
walt.farrell Posted April 7, 2022 Posted April 7, 2022 One important thing you will probably need to do is choose "All pages" rather than "All spreads" in the Export dialog. Beyond that I have no suggestions, as I don't use Blurb. But that aspect of creating PDFs from Publisher seems to cause issues for a number of users. (By the way, the abbreviation AP is Affinity Photo. You could abbreviate Affinity Publisher as APu, or APub. If you're using a computer, you can hover the mouse pointer over any of the abbreviations in this paragraph (or in your post above) and see the defined meaning.) Arne Skinlo Posted April 7, 2022 Author Posted April 7, 2022 Thank you, Walt, for the tip about abbreviation :). As you say, this is seems to be an issue for APup and a reason for using InDesign instead. For me, as a photographer, it is a key point to get my books published! Quote
walt.farrell Posted April 7, 2022 Posted April 7, 2022 You should be able to do it with Publisher, but you'll need to configure it to meet the Blurb specs. Just a (hopefully small) additional learning experience You might find a forum search helpful, too: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/search/&q=blurb&quick=1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
