Emanuele Pomini Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 Hello, since I have installed Affinity Photo the browsers are not showing thumbnail pictures, unless I open an incognito window. Does anyone know this issue? Any solution available please? Thank you very much Quote

I'm not sure what you mean by that. Can you give more of a description of what you're doing, and perhaps provide some screenshots to illustrate the problem, please? There are a number of known problems when using incognito windows. I'd suggest doing a search for "missing thumbnails in Google Chrome". Emanuele Pomini Posted April 6, 2022 Author Posted April 6, 2022 Yes exactly, using the incognito window is the solution to the problem. An example can be that in the wordpress dashboard of my website I can't see the profile pictures of the users, I attach 2 screenshots so you can see (the only pic uploaded is the one of my user Emanuele). I don't do anything specific, I just noticed that since I installed Affinity Photo this happened, so I think it might be related somehow. In the dashboard of other services I noticed the same thing of the user picture disappearing, like the one of the theme of my website. Quote

There was a problem, which I had myself a while back (so, maybe this particular problem has now been fixed) that having searched using an incognito window, thumbnails would show up in incognito windows, but no longer showed in normal windows! (I'm not sure what the solution was now, but I think it had something to do with disabling/reinstalling extensions!) Probably nothing do do with the OPs problem, but I thought it worth mentioning, as if you do a search, there are quite a number of reasons, and solutions to, missing thumbnails in Chrome! Staff Lee D Posted April 6, 2022 Staff Posted April 6, 2022 @Emanuele Pomini I don't believe Affinity apps are the cause of the issue, I use Wordpress and never had anything like that occur. The apps don't have way of restricting Chrome from loading thumbnails. Do you see thumbnails of your images in Windows and do they preview correctly? Quote

Emanuele Pomini Posted April 7, 2022 Author Posted April 7, 2022 yes, I see thumbnails of the images in Windows and they preview correctly. Does anyone have an idea of what could cause the issue? I have the problem with all browsers, not only Chrome Quote

Have you tried signing out from Wordpress and signing in again? Or possibly a problem with your Wordpress account options? You might also check with Wordpress Support and see if they have any suggestions. Emanuele Pomini Posted April 8, 2022 Author Posted April 8, 2022 The problem is not only with the browsers, I noticed that is also with windows, for example it does not show the pictures thumbnails in the folders as well, I attach a screenshot of pictures in a folder that should be normally visible. In English you would need to be showing Tiles (I think), and possibly some size larger than "small". (I can provide a screenshot later, if you need one.) Emanuele Pomini Posted April 8, 2022 Author Posted April 8, 2022 Ok problem solved, it was indeed an option in the File Explorer ticked, the one "always show icons, never thumbnails". My apologies if I thought it was related to Affinity Photo. Thanks a lot to everybody for your support, have a good day! walt.farrell 1 Quote
