Feature request for Luminal Neo Plugin Support (Photoshop)

Recommended Posts

Hi.

First, thanks for making Affinity Photo and Publisher such fantastic programs! (The two i use)

A feature request:

I tried to use the Luminar Neo Plugin (For photoshop) in Affinity Photo on Mac (Latest versions)

AP finds the plugin and i can select it in the plugin menu, but i doesn't start.

Is this something that Affinity can fix or is it a Luminar thing?

Best regards.

Yes, I second Stapler's request. Affinity finds the Luminar Neo plugin, but it won't start. A dialogue window opens saying that it's starting, but it never does.

It would be great if you guys could get it to work with Affinity photo, because the retouching tools in Luminar save a tone of time.

From what i can ascertain, Luminar Neo can be called successfully as a plugin from Affinity Photo, but only if you are on a Windows system. I am on the Mac side and have found myself frustrated by AP's inability to load Neo as a plugin. My experience mirrors that of the 2 users above – Neo can be added to the Plugin list, even called from the Filters menu, but it opens a dialog box and freezes the application, requiring a Force Quit and App Restart. I'm not sure if this implicates Skylum, Serif, or perhaps Apple. However, I agree that being able to use Luminar Neo as a plugin for Affinity Photo (within the Mac version) would be really nice!

Are those of you having trouble with it on Mac running on Intel or M1 Macs?

I am running macOS 12.4 on an iMac 2017. The inability of Affinity Photo (now 1.10.5 from the Serif store) to run the various iterations of Luminar on my mac desktop has long been a frustration. The latest update of ON1 Photo RAW -- 2022.5 -- now runs Luminar Neo as a plugin. So, I suspect Affinity could do a tweak to make it happen in APh, too.
