Ongoing serious bug in 1.

Love the app, use it heavily and recommend widely.

However, a serious bug remains in what purports to be a stable version:

• Update Index either 1) adds the index before the Table of Content at front of book or, 2) replaces Table of Contents at front of book
• Of 3 TOC in the book, one other was replaced by Index
• Update Table of Content at front of book causes formatting to go haywire - resetting TOC Text Styles are not implemented
• Changing TOC Text Styles can cause Left Indent to go haywire - jump from 18 to 62 to 600!
• despite deleting ALL text frames used for TOCs and the index - saving and closing and restarting app - only shows Update Index even when there isn't one in the book!

currently unable to add any index!

Can you attach or upload your afpub file to our Dropbox here, that shows this behaviour.

It's not something i've been able to replicate from scratch so suspect i'm missing something from my test file.

Hi there.  Thank you. I've uploaded.  

The document has 4 TOC and an Index - all now deleted, Master pages reset but still can't update or add an index.

On Page 162 there is a very small inserted index on that page.  Deleting that allows you to insert an Index

That option is always active, even on a new file the option isn't greyed out.

I've dropped you a Private Message with a download link to the file which will allow you to insert an index.

The TOC issues you mention, i couldn't replicate but then the file was missing the TOCs.  If you can try adding them in again and if you still have trouble with them, please do let me know and i can get that version of the file from you

This strange behaviour of TOCs is a permanent/constant one.
For me the solution is either …
— prepare the book with all its text styles and as last thing create the TOC, or
— when/if the mess occurs when refreshing the TOC: modify the TOC text styles

I hope future versions have this problem with TOC/formatting/textStyles definitively solved.

(Because the app is otherwise delightful to use)

Yes, I'm training myself to do the TOCs last.

 

Otherwise great software and I appreciate the willingness of Moderators to get into a file if truly stuck.
