KelRao Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 Hello, I am trying to insert a simple 2x5 table into my publisher page (it has a basic 2 column master applied). I cannot get the Table to insert in the position I want it to on the page. I can create it off screen (off the canvas) and then drag in place, but I have to use hard returns to get it to fit where it belongs. Do tables not work like other inline items, that the text around it flows? Still not sure why I can't get the table to populate ON my canvas where I want it. Many thanks for your always helpful advice. Quote
Staff stokerg Posted April 1, 2022 Staff Posted April 1, 2022 Hi @KelRao, You'd have to look into Pinning the table, which will allow it to flow with the text. More information on Pinning can be seen here. A table can't be drawn out in a text box, so that's why you can't make a table directly in a text box. KelRao 1 Quote
h_d Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 Like this? Click once on the table with the Move tool, pull down the Text menu, go to Text Wrap> Show Text Wrap Settings or Edit Wrap Outline. It seems that tables have an invisible rectangle behind them that acts as a text wrap. If you subsequently change the number of rows in the table, it doesn't automatically adjust - you have to go to the same place in the Text menu and choose Reset Wrap Outline.
