I purchased the Affinity Designer app for my i-Pad and it will not let me register.  It gives me an error message that it has timed out and to try again later.  I've shut my i-Pad down, fully charged it, and attempted to register it multiple times over the past few days and I continue to get the same error message.  I've attempted to create an account through the Affinity store and the screen just goes white.  I have a strong internet connection, plenty of room for the program, and my i-Pad meets the compatibility requirements.  What do I do now?

Hi @GVegas,

Welcome to the Affinity Forums :)

Sorry to see you're having trouble! This would usually indicate a local network is blocking the connection of the Affinity app to the web - do you have a firewall, proxy or similar security system setup on your current network?

Do you have access to a different network (ie a different WiFi connection, or perhaps a mobile internet connection directly from the iPad)? If so, I would recommend trying this again whilst connected to a different network and let me know if this works as expected there.

Many thanks in advance!

I tried it by disconnecting my wifi and using a mobile hotspot and it gave me the same error message.

Hi, if you have dynamic ip you should try and reset your router; I had issues with time-outs in the past and that’s what worked for me. All the best!

Thanks for trying that and I'm sorry to hear this! Do you have any VPN, firewall or other web security apps installed on your iPad that may be blocking the connection?

At this point should I just consider it a loss and get my money back?  I've tried on five different wifi locations and it times out each time.  I'm really disappointed but I appreciate the attempts at helping.

Many thanks for confirming that for me, I'm forwarding this report to our developers for further investigation here - however registration is an optional step that the Affinity apps do not require to function.

I can manually provide your account with the free content you would have received when registering, which I have done now. You can find this available for download from the below link -

https://store.serif.com/account/downloads/

Once signed in, please select the download options for the kits you wish to install on your iPad. You can then use the following guide to manually install this content, rather than through the registration dialog -

I hope this helps!

No problem at all, thanks for letting me know - this sounds like an issue local to your iPad / network, as we're not receiving these reports from other users currently.

Can you please confirm for me, what iOS version is your iPad running? :)
