Shelly 1955 Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 I am trying to copy an object and then step and repeat in a specific amount. I am use to InDesign and can’t figure out how to do it in Publisher. Any suggestions? Also, is there a book on Publisher I could purchase? I don’t need a beginners book as most things have made sense. A thorough us of the program. Quote
walt.farrell Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 What you're looking for is probably the Power Duplicate function. You can find info about it in the Help within the application, or here online:https://affinity.help/publisher/en-US.lproj/pages/ObjectControl/duplicate.html Note that where it suggests using Edit > Duplicate you can also use the shortcut, Ctrl (Windows) or Cmd (Mac) + J. Shelly 1955 Posted March 28, 2022 Author Posted March 28, 2022 Thank you for your response. I have looked at that and I see how to duplicate and how to paste. I'm looking for a dialogue box that will say how many copies and how far apart they will go vertically and horizontally. Am I missing something in the directions? Quote

For the distance vertically or horizontally: Once you have made the first duplicate, you can either move it by dragging with the Move Tool, or you can use the Transform studio panel, where you can specify exact amounts. For the number of copies: Once you have transformed the first duplicate, press Ctrl/Cmd+J to get a second one, transformed identically. Then press Ctrl/Cmd+J to get a third one. And just keep pressing it until you have the copies you need. There is no function to specify the number of copies directly.
