Baaswex Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 Publisher often crashes and closes when I am typing into a text box and type very rapidly, such as mashing backspace repeatedly or if my fingers get ahead of me and I'm almost pressing a few keys at once. Prior to this occurring I often notice a delay between keystrokes and characters appearing (ie I type a bunch but the text appears more slowly than I am typing, so when I stop typing characters continue to appear until it catches up with when I stopped). I am always offered a recovery file when I reopen and never lose more than a paragraph or so of work. My OS is windows 8.1 64-bit. I've only noticed this happening in the last week or so of using publisher. After the first few times it happened I updated to the current release (1.10.5.1342)to see if that would fix the issue but it did not (I do not know what my previous version was). I don't believe I've had any other software or window updates or anything that could impact anything. Dan C Posted March 29, 2022 Posted March 29, 2022 Hi @Baaswex, Welcome to the Affinity Forums Many thanks for your report and the crash logs provided, I've passed these through to our development team and they have identified the issue - therefore I'm getting this logged to be improved in a future version. In the meantime, resetting the app to default settings may help reduce the frequency of these crashes, however this will also lose any custom application settings etc. You can reset your app back to its default settings by holding down the CTRL key while launching the app. When the Clear User Data window appears, click Select All and then Clear. The app will now open. Be aware that resetting your app back to its default settings will lose any custom settings such as keyboard shortcuts and brushes etc. To backup such settings before resetting the app, please watch our Affinity Backing up app resources and factory reset video here - I hope this helps!
