Staff EmT Posted March 25, 2022 Staff Posted March 25, 2022 Hi @DarkClown Please could you confirm if you are using File > Edit In Designer or the StudioLink, also what type of object you are trying to edit. walt.farrell Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 Also, I think there's a known issue with "Edit in" and Read Only files, so you might check the file properties. Yes, I used "Edit in Affinity Publisher" to do a "search and replace" that (from what I'm aware is not available in Designer) - did my replace and selected "Edit in Affinity Designer" to go back to Designer. The file consisted mainly of text, a line and a graphical vector object. (so nothing fancy or complex). @walt.farrell Since I did not touch the file located on my system drive during operations I'd assume that it's fairly unlikely we have a read-only issue here. For example, with Firefox on Windows, if you click on a file and instead of Saving it you Open with some application, it's downloaded as read-only. That's true - but in this case it's a fully self created document 🙂 walt.farrell 1 Quote i7-12700KF, 3.60 GHz, 32GB RAM, SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070, Wacom Intuos 4 Tablet, Windows 11 Pro - AP, AD and APublisher V1 and V2https://www.timobierbaum.com

Please could you advise exactly what was replaced to get this error and is it something you can recreate? I'm aware that these kind of problems can be a nightmare. Currently I'm not able to reproduce the error myself. It may be related to the things I did in Publisher. What I did was: The attached file (regrettfully in a slighly different version) was send to Publisher from Designer In Designer I used the (search and) replace function for fonts to easily exchange all fonts for one of the 3 logo elements with a different font. After that I wanted to send the file back to designer and the error occured. Staff EmT Posted April 6, 2022 Staff Posted April 6, 2022 Thank you for the information, if you do manage to find a way to recreate it then please let me know. If the error does re-occur could you create a .dmp file from task manager. You can do this by going to Task Manager and right-click the app which gives the error and see if you can create a dump file in the right-click menu.
