mjwb Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 Hi, I am trying to do a astrophotography stack with a bunch of light and flat RAW frames, but the end result seemed to have worse vignetting than the original lights. I think this may be because the raw (flat, but possibly also light) image(s) aren't being imported into the astro stack persona correctly? E.g. when I import the .cr2 (from a canon dos 2000D) into astro stack, it has a 'harsh' circle and lacks almost any red in the histogram. BUT when I import the same .cr2 straight into the develop persona, it looks much more like I would expect (and similar to the preview on my DSLR, softer circular profile), and the histogram is more 'normal' too with red, green and blue peaks in the middle of the range. Would really appreciate it if you could take a look at the .cr2 file I've uploaded to see if anything stands out on your side. (running AP 1.10.5 on an Intel MacBook Air running Monterey). Thanks in advance, Matthew IMG_5853.CR2 Quote
Dan C Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 Hi @mjwb, Welcome to the Affinity Forums Unfortunately I'm not the foremost authority on astrophotography so I'm unable to comment directly on your RAW file - however our expert James has previously recommended Batch Processing the RAW files to 16bit TIFF files, and then Astrostacking these files. Please try this method and let us know if it produces better results for you! Quote
