I know this can be done in Adobe Illustrator, and there are several tutorials about it on YouTube.  But they all use Illustrator, and it goes against my religion to pay their ridiculous subscription fee.  So I want to exhaust all options before I give them my money.

Is there a way to warp text on to the surface of a transparent 3D sphere in Affinity Designer?  And if so, can you provide a detailed step-by-step?  I'm still just learning Affinity Designer.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello @RBinKC and welcome to the forums.

Affinity Designer does not have a warp tool. You would have to do it by hand or with the help of Affinity Photo.

Here you can find many examples of how to deform text with Affinity Designer (using Affinity Photo).

Unfortunately, that won't work for me, as I understand bringing vector images into Affinity Photo will convert them to bitmap images.  This needs to remain a vector image as I am working to convert it to an .svg file to turn it into a font, and it might require large re-sizing.  I can't risk it pixelating at higher resolutions.
