Affinity Photo Not Responding and has to be closed down and restarted.

1: Yes both Windows 10 & Affinity Photo are up to date.

2: No I can reproduce it. It seems to happen randomly ie painting on a mask layer, cropping, opening a 2nd - 10th image (fails on  a random image) and various other operations. It will fail on an operation but that operation works fine after closing & restarting AP even when repeating ALL operations to the point it failed.

3: Happens with new and previously saved documents.

4: Will just happen at random so there is not single document where it happens more often with although it does not appear to happen with CR3 files until developed and edited in the photo persona. It happens with both pixel only, vector only & combined documents.

Windows 10 fully up to date, started happening with AP 1.10.5.1342 and possibly with the version before although I don't think it did. Computer is Intel i5 6th gen, had 16gig but upgraded to 32gig because of this issue, happened with the Asus Nvidia GeForce 750GTX TI 2gig video card so I upgraded that to the MSI Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 4gig Ventus XS. The 750TI did not use hardware acceleration, the 1650 uses OpenCL hardware acceleration.

I can't provide a recipe as the same steps don't cause a repeat of the issue. It just reports NOT RESPONDING on the top left, I doubt a screenshot would help. It does not recover no matter how long I leave it.

I have a VEIKK tablet but it worked fine for month after installing it. I will disconnect to see if it changes things. No software change recently and the only hardware changes are to memory & graphics to try & fix this problem, I though it was a memory issue. I might go back to an earlier version of AP as they were all stable.

The only thing that does seem to cause the problem to reoccur is loading a reasonable sized afphoto image, upward of 100 meg which many of my images can be, and rapidly moving it around the canvas but again it only happens randomly. My CR3 files are 30-40meg so a quick edit (in 16bit) results in afphoto files in excess of 200 meg. I have been using 16bit for months with no issue, just since the last  (or possibly last 2) updates.

It was off with the old graphics card and the problem occurred, it happens with the new card which is OpenCL compatible but I have turned it off to test and it hasn't happened as much but as I can work in AP for hours without it happening it could take a while, days even, to be sure. Early signs are a bit more positive in that when it goes NOT RESPONDING is will respond after a minute or so.

Also try a clean reinstall of the graphics drivers. There was a recent update of the Nvidia drivers.

I have tried a reinstall of AP and the new graphics Card was fitted last week and the latest driver installed.
