Dan C Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 Hi @kat, 18 hours ago, kat said: With brush selected, clicking i dropper then lifting my finger off the click no longer reverts to brush If you are using the i key shortcut to switch to the colour picker, you will need to hit i again, once you have picked the colour, to return to the brush tool. 18 hours ago, kat said: when I do select brush the dropper color reverts to previous color Switching to the Colour Picker tool from the Paint Brush tool appears to be 'swapping' the foreground and background colour wells, meaning you apply the colour picked colour to the foreground swatch, then when switching back to the Paint Brush tool this becomes the background swatch and the brush continues to use the same colour as before colour picking. I must say I'm not currently certain if this is expected behaviour, as switching to the Colour Picker tool from other tools (such as the quick shape objects) doesn't swap the foreground and background swatches - so I'm checking this with our developers now and will be sure to update you with any pertinent information! In the meantime, with the Paint Brush tool selected, use X to swap the foreground and background wells, then use i to switch to the colour picker and pick your required colour. Once picked, press i once again to return to the previous tool and you should find the picked colour is now in use by the brush kat 1 Quote
kat Posted March 25, 2022 Author Posted March 25, 2022 AP v10.10.5 Wacom> brush > click i on wacom > click b on wacom > click x to switch colors. But previously I didn't have to click b to get back to the brush then x. I just released the i. Thanks for looking into this . Perhaps you have configured some of the buttons on your Wacom so they do something we don't understand? We may need to know more about which button you're clicking, and what you have that button configured to do. kat 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. kat Posted March 25, 2022 Author Posted March 25, 2022 This is a new intuous 6. It's been working with the i & b until 2 days ago. I've checked the Wacom settings, reset the AP studio, logged out & logged in. Quote Affinity Suite v2.6.3, Mac Mini M2 Pro 2023, Sonoma, OS 14.1.1 https://www.funkyhistory.com
kat Posted March 25, 2022 Author Posted March 25, 2022 Whew, it's the modifier option: Found this which agreed, "When using the paint brush on an image you can use the ALT key and click anywhere on that image to switch to that colour for your brush" All is back to working 😀 Old Bruce and Dan C 2 Quote Affinity Suite v2.6.3, Mac Mini M2 Pro 2023, Sonoma, OS 14.1.1 https://www.funkyhistory.com
