I would like some "how to" advice please. In the attached image, look at the word TIMES. The tops of the letters form a straight horizontal line, but the bottoms of the letters form a curve.

Using Designer Persona (vector) in Affinity Designer, how can I accomplish this text effect?  Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

You’re welcome.
“Vector warp” is just one name for it; it’s sometimes called “mesh warp”, “envelope warp” or “perspective warp” depending on how people want to change the shape.
It will have other names too, changing “warp” for something else – e.g. squeeze, sculpt, bend, stretch, etc. – but as long as you search for “warp” you’re bound to find what you need eventually.

Even nowadays, these effects can often be done by hand believe it or not
