SylwesterD
When I invert a layer and try to use white brush to revel the effect of the layer nothing happened. I checked and updated all drivers, in preferences switched off the hardware acceleration, did reset studio, reinstalled the affinity. NO results. Staff MEB Posted March 21, 2022 Staff Share Posted March 21, 2022 Hi @SylwesterD, Welcome to Affinity Forums Can you please provide more details? A screenshot with the Layers panel visible (so we can check the layer's structure) and with the brush tool selected would help to see what's going on. Inverting a layer per si just do what it says on the tin - it inverts the layer. Painting with a white brush on it just paints white. I believe you may be referring to the Invert adjustment perhaps (menu Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Invert) which does have a built-in mask that lets you reveal or hide the affected areas painting with white or black on the mask but without a screenshot it's difficult to guess what's going on. Thank you. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference | Call for Camera Images
SylwesterD
You are right -the problem is related to Invert adjustment. Screenshoot below: blue figure, HSL adjustment inverted (plan to desatrurate color). Painting a white brush on the figure should desaturate the color - nothing happened. Old Bruce
Do you have Protect Alpha turned on in the Context Toolbar? walt.farrell
The Context Toolbar shows that Wet Edges is set, which will affect the brush opacity. Try turning Wet Edges off to get a true White. Staff MEB Posted March 22, 2022 Staff Share Posted March 22, 2022 Hi @SylwesterD, Thanks for the screenshot. You have the Blend Mode in the context toolbar set to Darken. Please set it to Normal. You may also want to turn the Wet Edges option off as it affects the opacity and edges of the painted strokes.
