It is spring. - A language-independent glyph to convey that meaning

Upon investigation it appears to not be the case.

The glyphs of the symbols are different from the design that I posted.

It is on the devices with oval buttons. And yes, most have the switch line pointing up, but that is a minor detail that will confuse too many people, especially the dyslectics.

Not that your “language” has anything to do with Affinity products.

This is the Share your work forum.

The image was produced using Affinity Designer.

I suppose that your comment is true as such, but as far as I am aware the topic of the content of items posted in the Share your work forum is not expected to be about Affinity products. My understanding is that the expectation is that the items have been produced using one or more Affinity products.

That would be

It is a spring.

Some years ago, machine translation to French produced

C'est source.

Which also is

It is a spring.

In that case, spring as in water from a hillside.

The meaning of the glyph is definoed in the context of a season of the year, though I accept that I did not mention it here.

I suppose that I implicitly thought that today being the first day of sprng that the context would be clear.

I’ve never posted that image before, so it’s the first day of that spring, too! ;)

Edit: The first day of spring coincides with the spring equinox, which actually occurred two days ago (Sunday).

How is the meaning of the glyph expressed in the languages that you know please?

I'm closing this thread as this forum is meant to contain work created within the Affinity applications and to gather feedback on the work. It is not intended as a catch-all location for off-topic conversations to take place.
