I've search for this issue but would like to know if there is a way to curve text to a path AFTER the text is written. I know that it's possible to draw a path then choose the text tool and hunt for the text path icon and then proceed to type text.

It's just that I always create the text first then later on decide to put it on a path.

Is it possible to highlight both text and path and then place the selected text on the path?

A simple copy-paste would work. Instead of selecting (highlight) both objects at the same time, you can paste the written text into the text frame object you created from the path object.
