If I see ist right, the position, geometry and position relative to the respective computer's screen of any document is not (re)stored by the system software but by the particular application in its/in a .plist file. (Mac: AFPub should store, not the Finder.)

When openening (even worse: multiple) documents (not only) in Affinity Publisher, the document windows are opened in an "assumptive" size and place on the screen ("some size", "some position"). The customer has to take *every* document window and bring it by hand to the desired position and size: I think mostly "maximized" (not full screen) and at the coordinates of the top left corner of the "usable" area.

I would be very happy, if the Affinity suite would open documents in the same size and position (not page count or the like...) as they are last saved.

Many thanks!

Are you discussing native Affinity files (.afpub, etc.) or other files?

It would be possible to save that info in a native-format file, but probably not for other formats. (Although it may be possible for non-native files in the Recent Files list, too.)

Thanks for your answer!

I think this problematic is discussed at other threads here in extenso. But there is no movement/reaction.

Or am I doing something wrong (Mac, Monterrey, MBP M1) ?

For the first, I mean just only generic Affinity files.

This is, where I use to work with and save as Affinity files (see the nice large, maximized window  of 27" with file):

And this is in every case, I open a Affinity file again. ("Half the day" I'm busy with reseizing and re-arranging Affinity windows 🤪.

Just that's it. If I'm informed right, it is the job of the respective application to save seize and position of the window of its user files, not of the system software.

Many thanks again!

It is not a function provided today, so posting a Feature Request is the right approach. Though if there are other threads about this in the Feature Requests part of the forum, it would be better to simply add to one of them.

In any case, thanks for the clarification.

And I thank You for Your kind answer!

The other threads – as not so seldom ... – "lose somewhat their thread". And therefor I wanted to pinpoint the essence.

Nevertheless, I'm really happy and absolutely conviced of AF.

Have a nice weekend!
