alg Posted March 9, 2022 Posted March 9, 2022 Hi. My Desktop failed to carry out the latest updates c/drive even after uninstalling it as its just about full. I tried reinstalling on f/drive after setting up the new location. however I keep getting a message "There is not enough space on the disk". My f/drive is virtually empty so I wasn't expecting any problems. Along with Publisher I also have Photo and Designer which will require updating. I would be grateful for any help. Thanks in advance Quote
walt.farrell Posted March 9, 2022 Posted March 9, 2022 Is the problem with downloading the installer file, or with installing the application. In either case, you probably should free up some more space on C. But I know that takes some planning. If it's with downloading, that's between you and your browser. Some browsers download automatically to your <username>\Downloads folder, which is typically on C but there are ways to tell Windows to move it. You can do a web search for something like windows move Downloads folder and you'll probably find instructions. There are also browsers that can be configured to ask you what to do with a file before it's downloaded, and you can then tell the browser to use a different drive and folder. Firefox is one such browser, but in its latest incarnation it might now default to simply downloading without asking, so you might need to update its Settings. If the problem is with the installation, you might first move the download (and possibly Downloads itself) to the other drive, then uninstall Publisher, and you might then have enough room. If you're lucky, after the uninstall, you'll be prompted for where to install, and you can simply point to your F drive and a directory there. Even in that case, some data will go on C, as Windows keeps your <username>\AppData directory there by default. There are ways to move all that data, too, but I just move the Affinity part of it, as I think that's (a) simpler and (b) safer. I describe how I did that here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/132995-affinity-19-creative-assets-install-from-my-account/&do=findComment&comment=735413 NathanC 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
