RSN1 Posted March 9, 2022 Posted March 9, 2022 i am trying to create a business card and when i do the background for the back side artboard it doesnt appear in the bleed area where as when it is done on the front side artboard it works as you can see from the picture Quote
Staff Callum Posted March 9, 2022 Staff Posted March 9, 2022 Hi RSN1, If you look at the layers panel in your screenshot you can see that the blue bottom rectangle layer is actually outside of your art-board so it wont be clipped to its boundaries if you drag the blue rectangle back inside the art board layer stack you will see it has been clipped like the design on the back of your business cards. RSN1 Posted March 10, 2022 Author Posted March 10, 2022 (edited) @Callum Thank you for replying, i got one rectangle for the front side artboard (left side) which it does appear in the bleed area whereas, i have another rectangle in the back side artboard (right side) but in the back side artboard it does not appear in the bleed area. The rectangle for the back side is within the Artboard. It must be outside the Artboard, as you have with the rectangle for the front. RSN1 Posted March 10, 2022 Author Posted March 10, 2022 @walt.farrellso, i have to keep the rectangle outside the artboard in order that it appears in the bleed area and would be okay as i am using the bleed area for the background colour for business card. Quote
walt.farrell Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 Yes. Just move it so it is still below but is outside of the artboard itself. (That may be tricky. You may need to move it up to the top, above the artboard. Then drag it down again, with your mouse positioned to the left of the icon area, and drop it just above the Front artboard when the blue highlight spans the complete width of the panel.) firstdefence Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 You can keep the background image within the artboard and print to PDF, it has an option to include the bleed and as a test/demo if you also include the printer marks it will clearly show the crop lines are recessed like the example below...
