Hi,

I am trying to rotate a 8000 pixels pixel layer very precisely.

I selected the move tool. I placed pivot where needed.

I zoomed in a lot in the pixel layer because I need this to be precise enough, and then, I can't see rotate handle which is outside visible part of the image. And from here, I don't know how to rotate (I can't find any way with mouse or numeric imput).

Thanx for telling me how to do this with this needed level of zoom.

Thanx.

I didn't see this panel.

After clicking on several icons, it appears.

What means Xfm (Xfm tab near Navigator tab I clicked to display transform panel) ?

Isn't there a way to rotate with mouse when zoomed in ?

Hi @JIPJIP

"XFM" is the shortcut for "Transform" when the tab is not expanded. Unopened tabs all show a shortcut, for example "Nvg" for "Navigator".

You can rotate with the mouse wheel.
Select the object to be rotated, click in the "R" window of the "Transform" tab, use the mouse wheel:
Mouse wheel only: rotation from 1° to 1°.
Mouse wheel + "Shift" pressed: rotation from 10° to 10°.
Mouse wheel + "Ctrl/Cmd + Maj" pressed: rotation from 0.1° to 0.1°.

There's something wrong for me when I try to rotate with mouse wheel and when typing R shortcut.

When I select a pixel layer (in layer tab), then click on the move tool icon, then use mouse wheel, the view slides up/down (not the pixel layer but the working zone seenable in the zoomed view), but pixel layer does not rotate.

When I select a pixel layer (in layer tab) then type r or R, nothing happens. No tool become active.

What am I doing wrong ?

I have attached a video to demonstrate how to rotate using the mouse, as per the method above.

Another way to rotate using the "R:" field in the Transform panel is to place the mouse pointer over the "R:" field name & move it (the pointer) to the right or left. This also works for any other of the field names in that panel, as well as some other places in the UI.

Not useful for setting precise values but very handy for quick "ballpark" work.
