Affinity Rat Posted March 7, 2022 Posted March 7, 2022 I’m having difficulty in creating a new file from a bitmap. Easy to create file but how can I save it where it wont be accidentally lost. Procedure I have used include: Create new folder copy bitmap there copy bitmap from Ipad file manager “Copy” option Import from clipboard save as and select newly created directory I seem to get variable results and still sometimes find afphoto files in the default directory….wrong! Other related issue, possibly affecting this is double clicking afphoto file to open from ipad file management. If could set the default directory these would not be issues. Quote
Affinity Rat Posted March 7, 2022 Author Posted March 7, 2022 Yes this is ridiculous, but a real issue. If I create a new document from within AP, how does it determine the default directory? I just tried this, and the “save as” was pointed to a folder I had used in the past, but not the most recent nor the Affinity Photo directory set in the app. I’m completely competent to navigate file structure but unexpected things seemingly happening all the time. I opened a file from the AP gallery, make no changes and exit back to the gallery, a wheel over the thumbnail spins for minutes, even leaving AP and coming back it still spinning. Looks like time for a reinstall, not just have to figure out what I’m going to loose. assets brushes Quote
Staff Lee D Posted March 8, 2022 Staff Posted March 8, 2022 After starting a new document within the app, until you choose to use the Save option the file is stored within the app. When you choose save it will save to the default location set within the app so either local or cloud. If you open an existing document, work on it and then select save it it write back to it's original location. Quote
Affinity Rat Posted March 8, 2022 Author Posted March 8, 2022 Thanks Enough moaning, just have to constantly check if its updating the file I intend, and back it up. Quote
