Hello! I'm working in Affinity Publisher for Windows and I'm experiencing a weird issue every time I create a table: it assigns a character text style to every cell in the table and refuses to let me change what style is applied unless I go in and manually change it for every cell in the table. This is especially a pain since the character style it's selected uses a bright white font face (it's intended for sidebars that use a dark backdrop.)

I can't find anywhere in the table formats where this character is assigned, and drag-selecting the entire table's cells to try and correct every cell at once does not work.

Does anyone know how or why this might be happening,  and what steps I could do to try and solve it?

Have you tried editing the Table Body text style, this is what tables should be using by default. On the edit text style window is an option to reset formatting, you also have the option of duplicating this style and customising it. So once you've inserted a table you can apply your own style to it.
