Charles218 Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 I am 100% new to Affinity Publisher, and I'm having problems running the Peter Kahrel script to automate converting my InDesign files to IDML format. Using my Macbook running High Sierra, I have downloaded and placed the "jsx" script in the Scripts Panel folder. I am using InDesign CS5.5 and need to convert approximately 100 files. When I then double click the file within the Extended Toolkit window, I get a text listing of the script, it does not run. When I attempt to run it, I get the following error, "Cannot execute script in target engine 'main' (#1116) Can't start debug session." I do not have any experience with scripts and have just tried following instructions that I have found online. Can someone suggest a step by step plan that I can follow to get this to work?
Charles218 Posted March 4, 2022 Author Posted March 4, 2022 With a bit more research and head scratching, I was able to get to the control panel of the script, will quite possibly be back with additional questions if I run into more difficulty as I proceed.
GarryP Posted March 5, 2022 Posted March 5, 2022 Welcome to the forums @Charles218 The section of the forums you have posted this in is for the beta (user testing) version of Publisher only. Are you using the beta version or the 'normal' commercial release version? (I’m not aware that there is a current beta version so I have to guess that you are using the commercial release but it’s worth me checking.)
