Hi,

is there a way to add red blotches/soreness?

There are lots of tutorials on how to remove it. I have tried lots of options including picking the redness from other skin etc. but nothing that looks very realistic.

thank you

Can you show us an image (Google) which shows the kind of "red blotches/soreness" you want to recreate?

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

Try an HSL adjustment layer. Make your selection with the lasso tool, give a fair amount of feathering to smooth the edge. Now add the HSL adjustment layer and the adjustments will only apply to the selected area. You can modify that later by editing the mask on the adjustment layer.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

@Old Bruce thank you. I did that and added a blend option to the hsl layer to bring the underlying skin through. Then painted over the mask with a dry media brush on low opacity. I have to play around more but feel that I can get there with it. Thank you
