homeyJay Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 I usually use K=100 black but it always displays as grey-ish black on the monitor. I know it'll print just fine but I was wondering if there's any way of getting it to display as 'rich black', like in Illustrator? Quote
firstdefence Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Yes you just need to add some CMY to the mix so rich black as a CMYK is C:60 M:40 Y:40 K:100 Quote iMac 27" 2019 Sequoia 15.0 (24A335), iMac 27" Affinity Designer, Photo & Publisher V1 & V2, Adobe, Inkscape, Vectorstyler, Blender, C4D, Sketchup + more... homeyJay Posted March 4, 2022 Author Posted March 4, 2022 Yup, I get that but I don’t need to change its actual colour to rich black, I just need it to display as rich black on the monitor, like illustrator can. If I change black to rich black and forget to change it back to true black, there will be print issues and problems with clients etc! Quote
Old Bruce Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Be aware that if you use "rich black" instead of "0 0 0 100 cmyk" black for text then you may well have problems with registration and fuzzy looking text. If you need to use "0 0 0 100 cmyk" black, then use it. You will just have to live with the appearance of a slightly washed out looking black. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
