Leahanne419
I'm not sure if this function exists in Affinity. I am creating stickers and need to copy the same image and fill the entire page. I like using Affinity for creating my stickers instead of using Silhouette Studio which is my cutting machine. This function exists in Silhouette Design by selecting the object and using their Replicate function. The Replicate function allows the object to fill the entire page and be properly aligned. I've been Googling and looking for any tutorials on this and haven't seen any. I may not be using the right words or know what Affinity calls it either. Does this functionality exist in Affinity? Bad_Wolf
Hi Leahanne419, There is no replicate function yet like in Silhouette Studio. However follow the following steps to see if "CTRL"+J is usefull for you. 1. Draw an oval (or any shape). 2. With the oval selected, press "CTRL + J". You will see that there is a new object in your layers panel. 3. Drag the new created object to the left or right of your original object. 4. Select both objects. 5. Press "CTRL + j" again, two other objects are created. 6. Drag the newly created objects under the original ones. 7. Now with the newly created objects selected, press "CTRL + J" a few times again. The objects will be duplicated and placed on the distance you selected in step 6. This is how I replicate in Affinity Designer. Maybe someone else knows another way. Alfred
Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @Leahanne419. The functionality you’re looking for, or the closest thing to it, is known in the Affinity apps as ‘Power Duplicate’. If you duplicate an object, transform it (i.e. move, rotate, or resize it) and keep it selected, subsequent duplicates will have the same transformation applied. So if you duplicate a sticker, move the duplicate horizontally, and duplicate three more times, you’ll end up with a row of five stickers. Select all five objects, duplicate and move the new duplicates vertically to create another row, and then duplicate a few more times to create more rows. There is currently no tool or single command to create a grid of objects. walt.farrell
The Affinity applications also support "N-Up" printing if you're going directly to a printer. And Affinity Publisher has a Data Merge function that can produce a grid-layout of items, for some purposes.
