Georges1
Hi there, I tired using the Mrs Eaves font in Affinity Designer and Publisher and whenever I use it, it doesn't show any spaces in-between the words. The spaces are there because if I use another font the spaces appear. I've never had this issue in any other program or software with this font. Has anyone else had this problem, is there a workaround?
walt.farrell
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. Where did you get that font, and what version do you have? What OS do you use? Georges1
I got the font from Adobe about 20 years ago. The version I have is 001.00. I'm using macOS Monterey 12.2.
walt.farrell
Really old fonts are, from what I've read, not supported by the Affinity applications. If you're using a copy that is that old, my guess is you'll need to replace it with something newer (new implementation of Mrs Eaves, or something similar) to use it with the Affinity fonts. Others here are far more expert than I about fonts, though. I'm sure one of them will be along at some point with more info. However, some web searches suggest that Baskerville is similar, and Google Fonts has Libre Baskerville that you could download and try free of charge. prophet
I've got Mrs Eaves from that same time frame and it works fine. @Georges1 are you using a Postscript or TrueType version?
iconoclast
I'm not sure if this topic has to do with it, but since last year Type-1 fonts are no longer supported - even by Adobe. It's outdated. I don't know if Affinity still supports Type 1. But I don't think so. What font format is your Mrs Eaves font?
Georges1
The format I'm using is PostDcript Type 1. @prophetwhat version of Mrs. Eaves are you using?
prophet
I've got both Postscript Type1 and TrueType versions running just fine on all 3 Affinity 1.10.4 apps. I am still on MacOS Mojave 10.14.6, but not sure that would have anything to do with it.
prophet
All these play quite nicely.
Georges1
Thank you for all your help! Maybe my font is corrupt. I'll try reinstalling it again or downloading a newer version of the font.
